it has been over 100 degrees outside so it feels like summer is far from over yet school has started so summer is sort of over! i cannot believe that school has already started. day 2 is done. i am already tired! but maybe that is because my lazy summer sleeping in is over?! now i am making wake up time 5:30 am! yikes. me and jillian michaels have an appointment together then (which Shad joined in for this morning :)) then me and the Lord! i know that may sound like my priorities are backwards but truly i just have to move first or i will fall asleep reading. i am really not a morning person. but my hubby would say to me with that comment..."it's mind over mattress, vern!" i truly hate that comment from him.
well, school started with happy faces and sad faces over here. my dear abbie who was in tears and so nervous last year was the happy face! she really likes school and the Lord has done a mighty work in my precious little eight year old! she got the most amazing teacher ever too which is a major plus! i have told the Lord thank you over and over this past week...both of our teachers are believers and i am so grateful for who He has hand-picked for my girls. ainslee was the sad face. she did all in her power not to cry. i have to say i was so glad for her strength because God was keeping me strong but i would have broken if she did! she likes school but really wants to just be at home. i think she will end up being my little homebody! i enjoy her saying it though...i feel very loved! at dinner last night she said her high was when she got to come home :)
jack, ann claire and mom will start our school hopefully next monday! i am trying to get all of our stuff together and get organized and creative to teach the little man his kindergarten and ann claire some pre-k! it should be fun! just trying to mentally prepare!
that is ok though! we had a great time with our kids the week before at the lake! shad and i think we could live there...if only there were a target a bit closer! we so love the water and boating and just being out there with the kids! they are all skiing...minus AC! Ainslee hit her big time of 17 minutes skiing! pretty awesome! and abbie and jack went for several minutes too. the big thing this year for jack and ainslee was getting over the wake! jack struggles a bit since he is so light the rope hinders him from being able to get over, but he is one determined little man. ainslee has mastered going side to side! and they all like to ride crazy on the tube behind the ski boat! daddy doesn't make it easy for them either. oh, i can't believe how big they are getting. i just already know i will be one weepy momma as they all start to leave my house one day. i am crying recently at just watching them and realizing how fast they are growing up. being a parent is such an overwhelming job! and it is a job..i will let no one tell me other wise. but it is the best job i can ever imagine the Lord giving me the honor and privilege of having! i only pray often that He continues to give me the wisdom and heart and selflessness to do the job well. the greatest legacy i will ever leave here on earth is to invest in, love, and disciple my children in the Lord. Father, may I have the courage, the strength, and the heart of Christ to do this job with the power of the Holy Spirit in me on a daily basis!
Happy back to school to everyone!
