it said, "May my cry be always Jesus, Only Jesus, only Jesus!"
LOVE that! That is my heart cry and that is the cry of the Holy Spirit in my heart. The more that falls on my plate, the more life goes on the more I see my desperate and overwhelming need for "only Jesus". I can get so distracted by so many things and lean on my own knowledge, my own experience. But the Lord gives me the grace to continually fall into His loving arms and His wide embrace and pull me back to Himself.
It went on to say, "in Him is freedom from condemnation, fullness in his righteousness, eternal vitality in His given life, indissoluble union in fellowship with him."
This type of fellowship reminds me of a quote from a recent sermon I heard...He said that this dependence/commitment to Jesus is the difference between "dating Jesus and marrying Jesus"! He is my portion...not asking for a piece of me but demanding ALL of me! How can I possibly hold back from the person who put Himself on a cross for me and took on my sins and clothed me in His righteousness that I don't deserve?! I want to live in this joy and fellowship. I want to breathe it. I don't want a moment to pass by that is not walking hand in hand with Jesus. Father, keep me from distractions, from my own passivity, my own condemnation that I place on myself, temptations, and fill me with ONLY JESUS!!
Everything the Lord is teaching me right now is just simply always pointing me to HIM! For example, I was going over the sermon from Sunday from Lam. 3. In verse 25 it says "the Lord is good to those who wait for Him". I would read that typically, to be honest, and point to the word "wait" and think of my circumstances which for the last two years have been a baby. So I look at that word wait and think merely about the what but this time God was saying, no, no, look at the who!!! Don't focus daughter of mine on your circumstances and what you have or don't have just look to me and wait. Depend on me. Seek me (that is the next line). and verse 26 says wait quietly. Submit your life to me, child! Yield to my sovereign plan for your life. Let me grow you in the process....He is not concerned with my happiness but my holiness. v. 24-"the Lord is my portion, says my soul, therefore I will hope in him." HE is my portion...only Jesus!!
